POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Made In Baltimore Retail Program Manager- 24 hrs./week for 1 year
Reports To: Made In Baltimore Director
This is a part-time contractual position with no benefits. Pay commensurate with experience (Range: $24-$30/hr). Applications accepted until filled.

The Made In Baltimore program (MIB) supports and promotes makers and manufacturers in
Baltimore City and promotes the concept of “buying local” as a means of reinvestment in our
local economy.

General description of work
The Made In Baltimore Retail Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all MIB retail programs, including both e-commerce and in-person retail activities. The primary role of the Retail Program Manager is to ensure these programs operate effectively and efficiently, ensuring a positive experience for both vendors and customers alike. This position works year-round, but duties change seasonally. From October – January, the Manager will be responsible for operating the MIB Holiday Pop-Up Store and affiliated e- commerce site. This role includes vendor management, staff management, and accurate inventory tracking. During the rest of the year, the Manager continues to oversee operations of the e-commerce site, as well as other programs including occasional retail events, deploying the MIB Mobile Kiosk, and procuring MIB branded merchandise. This is a hybrid virtual/in person position.
The ideal candidate has experience managing a retail storefront and/or e-commerce site; is organized, diligent, and a clear communicator; has strong experience in e-commerce platforms and inventory management; is comfortable using spreadsheets to track inventory and sales; is motivated by hitting sales goals and achieving positive customer feedback; has an interest in current styles and trends in the fashion, design, and food worlds; is creative, energetic, and works well on a small team.
SCOPE OF WORK
During the contracted period, the Retail Program Manager will:
1. Manage the successful ongoing operations of the Made In Baltimore online store, including but not limited to:
– Vendor recruitment and communication
– Inventory management and record keeping, including quarterly (seasonal) inventory updates
– Customer service response
– Sales reporting and record keeping
– Coordination with third-party vendors, including but not limited to web developers, software providers, and fulfillment/shipping partners
2. Coordinate vendor and inventory selection and maintenance for deployments of the MIB Mobile Kiosk.
3. Work with MIB Executive Director and BDC finance and accounting staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of sales reports and payments to participating vendors on all MIB retail platforms.
4. Work with MIB Executive Director to set and achieve quarterly sales goals for all MIB retail platforms.
5. Assist the MIB marketing staff to develop marketing plans and materials for all MIB retail platforms.
6. Positively represent the Made In Baltimore program, mission, and member companies to customers.
7. Communicate and troubleshoot with MIB Executive Director about any challenges/issues preventing the successful operation of MIB retail platforms.
8. Manage operations of the MIB Holiday storefront from October 2022 – January 2023.

RESPONSIBILITIES
– Manage all operational aspects of the Made In Baltimore Store (online and in-person)
– Handle all vendor communication and inventory in-take and tracking
– Operate the store point-of-sale system, and keep accurate, daily accounts of sales
– Track data on store sales and create monthly sales reports
– Serve as MIB lead on third-party retail partnerships
– Serve as MIB point of contact with third party e-commerce fulfillment partner
– Assist in public event preparation and logistics
– Oversee store staff and volunteers
QUALIFICATIONS
– Management experience in a retail environment, including inventory management
– Strong familiarity with the Shopify e-commerce platform
– Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, or comparable software
– Strong written and oral communication skills
– Knowledge of the Baltimore maker scene a plus
– Car ownership is highly encouraged; some driving is required
