Position Title: Made In Baltimore Retail Program Manager- FTE
Reports To: Made In Baltimore Director
Salary is $55,000 w/benefits. This is a full-time grant funded at-will position; position will
remain in place as long as funding is available.

Baltimore City and promotes the concept of “buying local” as a means of reinvestment in our
local economy.

General description of work
The Made In Baltimore Retail Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day
operations of all MIB retail programs, including both e-commerce and in-person retail activities.
The primary role of the Retail Program Manager is to ensure these programs operate effectively
and efficiently, ensuring a positive experience for both vendors and customers alike.
The Manager will be primarily responsible for operating the MIB Pop-Up Stores and affiliated e-
commerce site. This role includes vendor management and communications, staff
management, customer service, and accurate inventory tracking. The Manager is also
responsible for managing retail partnerships and wholesale accounts, deploying the MIB Mobile
Kiosk, and procuring MIB branded merchandise.

The ideal candidate has experience managing a retail storefront and/or e-commerce site; is
organized, diligent, and a clear communicator; has strong experience in e-commerce platforms
and inventory management; is comfortable using spreadsheets to track inventory and sales; is
motivated by hitting sales goals and achieving positive customer feedback; has an interest in
current styles and trends in the fashion, design, and food worlds; is creative, energetic, and
works well on a small team.

Duties Include:
Brick-and-Mortar Retail Operations
● Manage operations of the MIB storefronts, including but not limited to:
– Vendor recruitment and communication
– Inventory management and record keeping
– Product display and merchandising
– Opening & closing procedures
– Point-of-sale operation
– Recruitment and management of any temporary staff or volunteers
– Customer service response
– Sales reporting and record keeping
– Coordination with third-party vendors, including but not limited to web
developers, software providers, and fulfillment/shipping partners

E-Commerce Operations
● Manage the successful ongoing operations of the Made In Baltimore online store,
including but not limited to:
– Vendor recruitment and communication
– Inventory management and record keeping, including quarterly (seasonal)
inventory updates
– Customer service response
– Sales reporting and record keeping
– Coordination with third-party vendors, including but not limited to web
developers, software providers, and fulfillment/shipping partners

MIB Mobile Kiosk
● Coordinate vendor and inventory selection and maintenance for deployments of the MIB
Mobile Kiosk.
● Assist with logistics of moving Mobile Kiosk when needed
● Manage partner agreements with all Mobile Kiosk host sites
Retail Partnerships
● Recruit retail partners to carry MIB member products and/or host MIB in-store retail
activations
● Coordinate vendor and inventory selection, delivery, and maintenance for wholesale
orders
● Manage and track all inventory purchase orders, invoices, and reporting as needed for
retail partnerships

General
● Work with MIB Executive Director and BDC finance and accounting staff to ensure timely
and accurate delivery of sales reports and payments to participating vendors on all MIB
retail platforms
● Work with MIB Executive Director to set and achieve quarterly sales goals for all MIB
retail platforms
● Assist the MIB marketing staff to develop marketing plans and materials for all MIB retail
platforms
● Positively represent the Made In Baltimore program, mission, and member companies to
customers
● Communicate and troubleshoot with MIB Executive Director about any challenges/issues
preventing the successful operation of MIB retail platforms
● Other duties as assigned
Job duties are subject to change as directed by management.

Key Qualifications
– Management experience in a retail environment, including inventory management
– Strong familiarity with the Shopify e-commerce platform
– Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, or comparable software
– Strong written and oral communication skills
– Knowledge of the Baltimore maker scene a plus
– Car ownership is highly encouraged; some driving is required or access to transportation

This is a salaried, benefited, at-will position, and work is performed as required to complete
assigned projects, and may require extended hours beyond a conventional workweek.
