Are you interested in improving your job outlook and increasing your knowledge in the consumer goods product development sector ? Made In Baltimore is looking for a Product Development Intern to help us develop new and exciting products for our retail platforms, while building connections with new Made In Baltimore makers.
The Product Development Intern will gain knowledge and experience while working directly with MIB’s Retail Program Manager. The intern’s primary task will be to work with the MIB staff to conceive of new products for design and development in collaboration with MIB member businesses. The role will include providing support to the Made In Baltimore Store, and some daily operations of running our retail platforms. The intern will be responsible for examining past sales data to identify product trends and gaps, researching the production capacity of MIB member businesses, and developing strategies to increase customer engagement for our retail operations. The intern will be expected to spend at least 4 hours/week in-person assisting with daily operations of the Made In Baltimore Store at 5718 York Road. This will include product merchandising, providing customer service and operating the point-of-sale, and assisting with special events as needed.
Key Qualifications
- Product design experience
- Good oral, visual, and written communication skills
- Retail and customer service experience
- Assisting retail program manager with any inventory or layout changes to the store
- Assisting with special events
