McLain Wiesand Custom Furniture is seeking a full time client facing Design Project Manager.
Design Project Manager Job Description & Responsibilities
The Design Project Manager will be the lead and primary point of contact responsible for managing ongoing McLain Wiesand projects. This includes quoting and budgeting, assessing the scope of work, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination for each job. The ideal candidate will excel at cultivating relationships, managing multiple projects, and providing timely communication between all parties. They will work closely with clients, in house artisans, and subcontractors to ensure all phases of the project are completed on time, including any changes. They will create project management plans, set expectations, and ensure the project plans are driven by organizational procedures.
Job duties will include but may not be limited to:
-Plan, coordinate and manage all projects for both commercial and residential clients.
-Actively track individual project tasks, timelines, and progress.
-Compile weekly status reports and discuss the status of all orders on all projects at weekly staff meetings.
-Provide quote proposals for incoming client requests.
-Procure estimates from trades and vendors.
-Manage cost and schedule and serve as customer point of contact throughout full project lifecycle.
-Maintain communication with multiple ongoing clients, vendors, subcontractors, and showrooms to keep all parties updated on project status, requirements, or changes.
-Diligent record keeping and project documentation over the course of design, including drawings, finish samples, client approvals, ordering, finishing, and shipping.
-Coordinate final shipment of finished products to project sites and shipping receivers.
-Office Managerial duties
-Create tearsheets for new products and update website.
Skills & Qualifications:
-Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
-Quickbooks accounting software
-Squarespace
-Familiarity with architectural drawings and CAD
-Interest and experience in furniture design, fabrication, or decorative arts a plus but not a must!
-Willingness to ask questions and seek creative solutions
-Excellent communication skills and willingness to engage with clients and coworkers in a professional, friendly, and timely manner.
