Workshop Wednesdays is a business development event series targeted to maker and small manufacturing companies. Come learn tips and tools from experts in a wide range of business services, and network with fellow makers with snacks and drinks.

Please join Made in Baltimore at Open Works for the sixth and final session of the monthly Workshop Wednesday speaker series: Scaling Up!

You’re invited to join Made In Baltimore and Open Works for the final installment of the Workshop Wednesday series on Wednesday June 21st. This month we’re discussing ways to SCALE UP your business with local business owners who’ve done it, and a financing program that can help you get there. Our speakers will include:

Jamyla Bennu, Founder and CEO of Oyin Handmade

Ms. Bennu will discuss growing her business from a one-woman operation to a nationally distributed beauty product line, available at Target, Sally Beauty, CVS, and other major retailers.

Ty Alston, Lead at Kiva Baltimore

Mr. Alston will present about the crowd-sourced, online lending platform Kiva, and how it can help small maker businesses get that first loan needed to buy new equipment, hire the first employee, and establish good credit.

We hope you can join us for what is sure to be an enlightening evening! As usual, the event is free, and there will be food, drink, and networking with other makers and manufacturers. Hope to see you there!
