Update: We made the below original post in June 2020 as part of the national effort to support the Black Lives Matter movement and uplift Black entrepreneurs in Baltimore CIty.  It quickly became our most viewed page ever, with over 3,000 views and counting.  However, it is a snapshot from that time, and some of the information below is no longer up to date. For a current list of  black-owned businesses in the MIB network, please visit our Business Directory and filter for Minority-Owned and/or Black-Owned businesses.

At Made In Baltimore, we believe that equitable economic opportunity is crucial for a healthy and just society. Sadly, through our country’s history, racism coupled with extractive capitalist practices have systematically excluded communities of color from the economic opportunities available to others. This has to end.

We believe that one solution is to invest instead in the entrepreneurs who are creating economic opportunity for themselves and their communities. By connecting our members to new customers through our pop-up shops and online marketing, to opportunities for local and national growth, and even to each other for collaboration and support, we aim to level the playing field of our city’s economy. Only by supporting our city’s Black-owned businesses can we begin to build generational wealth in Baltimore where it is needed most.

We encourage you to treat yourself and others to these products, and bookmark for holiday shopping so that you can continue to invest in Baltimore’s Black makers and entrepreneurs. Please consider these businesses for your procurement and catering needs. If you require custom services that any these businesses might be equipped to meet, please reach out to them — or reach out to us! We will be delighted to connect you.
