ARTSCAPE returns to Baltimore this weekend, and Made In Baltimore will be a part of the action! On Friday, Made In Baltimore Hosts an open house at the Made In Baltimore Store on July 19, 6-9PM during Artscape, as part of the first annual neighborhood wide @Artscape Art Crawl! The evening will feature food and beverage sampling from three local product lines: Hex Ferments, Cajou Cream vegan ice cream and Treats for Eats; as well as networking with Baltimore’s artists and makers, and unique gift shopping from a retail store featuring exclusively Baltimore City-based product lines.
Made in Baltimore Store is also proud to be the host of this year’s FRED PRIZE exhibit, featuring the work of Fred Prize Winner, Julio Miguel Alumbro, during Artscape. Alumbro, a recent graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute will be headed to University of Maryland (UMD) this fall. As a student artist, he pushed boundaries to reveal further artistic skills and different techniques. Alumbro creates art because it impels his creativity in making aesthetic images. Art also allows him to know more about himself, as well as others to know he is more than just a student.
Fred Lazarus IV Artscape Prize (“The Fred”) is a competitive program that recognizes student artists in Baltimore City high schools. Julio Miguel Alumbro’s work will be on view at Made In Baltimore Store Friday July 19 – Sunday July 21.
